When I was little I always thought I would grow up to be a famous artist. Whether it was my groundbreaking oil paintings of my own shoes or my one woman art movement entitled “Hey, why can’t I draw on the furniture?” I was always pushing the envelope in terms of taste. Needless to say that career dried out almost as quickly as the permanent marker I used on my mother’s sofa (I don’t recommend that everyone be as bold as I.) But now my budding inner photographer is in full bloom with the Pop 9 Camera from the Lomographic Society.

download The Ruby in the Smoke Remember when you were a tiny tot building all sorts of things out of legos? Well, Marc Jacobs certainly does; lego accessories were all over his runway. He stuck them onto headbands and belts, and little biRd, ever the fan of DIY projects, is taking his cue by making our own graphic designs. Here is an action shot of Ruthie rocking a lego necklace next to its fabulous designer in blue, Mara. (Check out Mara’s block bracelet, which is another great interpretation of the toys-as-art trend!)
